Kim Gravatt

An artist on the rise, Kim Gravatt’s style is smooth and funky with a touch of hip hop. Her influences are Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull, Karl Denon, the New Mastersounds, and Sade.
Kim was born in Northern California but moved to the suburbs of Philadelphia when she was young. Kim started violin in the third grade and later switched to flute, in which she was classically trained. In grade school, Kim went to States for music and won the Semper Fidelis Musical Excellence Award. She also played in concert band and jazz band all through high school. After graduation, Kim moved to Baltimore City and found her place in rock band Subtle Hustle. Kim was part of several other bands on the streets of Baltimore, including Fractal Cat, before forming her own group, Sonic Spell.
Kim grew up loving the water and obtained a bachelor’s degree in structural engineering from the University of Delaware. This girl on the move works as a commercial diver, designing and inspecting bridges and waterfront structures. Music is life to Kim and life just keeps getting better!
